Beaumont police Sunday were seeking Angel Marquez Ramirez, 67, in connection with a shooting that left the victim in critical condition.
In an issued statement, police said they believe Ramirez and a second man, who was known to Ramirez, argued before Ramirez shot him. Police were called at about 7:16 p.m. Saturday to the 4600 block of Ironton.
The victim told police Ramirez, who had several weapons, fled on foot. A perimeter was set up, police said, but failed to net the suspect.
The victim was taken to St. Elizabeth’s.
Ramirez was described as a Hispanic male who wore a white, plaid-colored shirt, jeans and tennis shoes. He wore a light blue or gray baseball cap.
Anyone with information should call the Beaumont Police Department at 409-832-1234 or Southeast Texas Crime Stoppers at 409-833-TIPS (8477).
