Earl Monroe Hilton, Jr departed this life on Monday, 23 July 2018.

He was born 1 November 1928 in Morgan City, Louisiana, the son of Earl Monroe Hilton, Sr. and Zona Eliza McCann Hilton Perry.  He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Dr. Donald Long Hilton, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was surrounded by his wife and children at the time of his passing.

Earl attended Thomas Jefferson High School and graduated in the top 10% of his class.

He married Estelle Rita Perry on 6 November 1948 and they are the parents of 9 children: Louise and husband Will Jeter, Margaret and husband Russell Dailey, III, Rachel and husband Johnny Ross, Ruth and husband Wes Hasson, Julie Christman, Becky and husband Spencer Savoie, Earl III and wife Kari (Frost), Allen and wife Julie (Johnson), Alden and wife Linda (Moulton), as well as 63 grandchildren and 117 great-grandchildren (and counting).

Earl was employed at E.I. DuPont de Nemours Inc. – Sabine River Works for 43.5 years.  He started out as an analyst in the Process laboratory and worked his way to Plant Shift Supervisor at the time of his retirement.

Earl was active in church service for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints all of his adult life, serving in numerous capacities, including a one-year mission with his wife to Moline Illinois.  He was a wonderful man with a tremendous legacy.  His reach and positive impact will extend for many generations to come.

The viewing will be held at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home at 4841 39th Street, Port Arthur, on Friday, 27 July 2018 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM.

There will be an additional opportunity for viewing Saturday from 8:30-9:30 PM, followed by the funeral at 10:00 AM, both at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3939 Turtle Creek Drive, Port Arthur, on Saturday, 28 July 2018.
