Staff report
A Beaumont man was charged with aggravated robbery, possession of marijuana, evading detention and possession of a prohibited weapon following a late Tuesday incident.
In an issued statement, police said they were called to the 4200 block of Maddox on a robbery-in-progress call. Police found the suspects, tried to stop them, then followed them after they fled on foot.
After a long search, they found Jaquorian Oshae Bourgeois, 18, who was carrying marijuana and a short-barrel shotgun — a prohibited weapon.
The suspect had the robbery victim’s property, which was recovered.
Bourgeois was taken to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility and booked.
No bond was set Wednesday morning.
