David Wilson Campbell III

David Wilson Campbell III, 85, of Beaumont, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Born in Cleves, Ohio, on November 16, 1932, he was raised in Port Arthur and lived most of his life in Beaumont, Texas. Dave was a veteran of the United States Army and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in engineering. He spent his professional career as a structural engineer in the Golden Triangle.
Dave was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing baseball, softball and golf. He coached his sons throughout little league and continued coaching and umpiring even after they moved on.
Dave is survived by his loving wife of forty years, Jackie; sons, David Campbell and his wife, Cecilia; Philip Campbell and his wife, Laure Poffenberger; and Craig Campbell and his wife, Susan; daughter-in-law, Melinda Irons; and five grandchildren, Stephanie, Kelly, and Daniel Campbell, as well as Charles and Emily Irons.
The family will hold a private memorial service. His cremation was handled through Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
