Investigators with the Nederland Police Department have charged a third suspect with the May 9 beating death of Michael Odell Legg.
The suspect is still at large and should be considered dangerous.
NPD, with assistance from the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office and the Beaumont Police Department, obtained a warrant for the arrest of 19-year-old Dcobien James Dorsey, for the murder of Legg at his home in the 8100 block of Beauxart Garden Road in Nederland.

Dorsey is thought to be a resident of Beaumont. Justice of the Peace Nancy Beaulieu issued a capital murder warrant for Dorsey May 31 and set bond at $1 million.
Police were alerted something was amiss while investigating a call of suspicious persons at the home of one of Legg’s neighbors around 1:30 a.m. May 9. A doorbell camera caught video of two men at the home and newly sworn in police chief Gary Porter said police believe Dorsey is the man shown crawling on the ground in the video.
While checking the area police found the front and back doors of Legg’s home open and Legg deceased on the living room floor. Preliminary autopsy results show he died from injuries from an assault.
Two other suspects — Ashlie Cherie Martinez, 24, and her boyfriend Duane Lamonte Owens Jr., 23 — were also charged with the death of Legg on May 24.
Affidavits for the arrests of Martinez and Owens stated that Owens brought a firearm into Legg’s residence and Martinez broke a bottle of wine over the back of Legg’s head while the other suspect or suspects struggled to gain control over Legg. Once Legg was incapacitated and died, Martinez took his firearm and cell phone and the other suspect or suspects took other items.
Police learned that Legg’s cell phone had powered down in the 2600 block of Euclid in Beaumont, which is where Martinez and Owens reside.
The couple was arrested by Beaumont Police and SWAT for an unrelated felony charge and later charged with the capital murder of Legg.
Dorsey is at large at this time and police said he should be considered dangerous. NPD asked that anyone knowing the whereabouts of Dorsey to contact their local police department or notify Crime Stoppers of Southeast Texas at (409) 833-TIPS.
