Two Port Arthur Memorial seniors will still be teammates when they get to college.

Kiara Ford and Vern’Niquia Davis signed letters of intent with Jarvis Christian College, located in Wood County just north of Tyler.

“It’s very nice,” Ford said. “I have someone from my hometown, someone I can count on. [Davis is] a good teammate. I think we’ll have some success together.”

The two were offered after trying out at the NAIA campus.

“It was a great tryout,” Davis said. “The coaches were really nice.”

Davis, a point guard, averaged 4 points and 2 assists for the Titans this past season, and stretch-four forward Ford put in 2 points and 2 rebounds a game.
