Port Neches-Groves seniors Josh Elmore and Collin Dietrich signed letters of intent with Texas junior colleges Tuesday as, standing from left, golf coach Blake Austin, athletic director Brandon Faircloth and track coach Taylor Byrd, look on. Elmore will play golf next season at Midland College. He finished 10th in Class 5A as a sophomore and also made state as a freshman. Elmore was the District 22-5A co-medalist as a sophomore, the 22-5A champion as a junior and finished fifth as a senior. Dietrich, who’ll run cross country and track at Jacksonville College, reached the 5A Region III cross country meet the past three years and qualified for the Area 11-5A meet as a junior and senior in the 1,600, an event where he posted two personal bests this year. Dietrich is the reigning Gusher Marathon 5K champion, 22-5A 1,600-meter runner-up and third-place finisher in both the 3,200 and cross country. (I.C. Murrell/The News)
