This is the first weekly award of the season for Lamar.

Vossgaetter and teammate Jasmin Buchta clinched the doubles point for Lamar on Saturday with a 6-4 win over Nicholls’ Stephanie Barnett and Lingfeng Gu, playing at the top line. The freshman from Langenfield, Germany, then squeezed out a close back-and-forth match against the Colonels’ Mariia Kozachok on court three. Vossgaetter took the first set 7-6 (7-2) but dropped a tough second set 7-6 (7-5). She swung a 10-8 deciding set to take the match.
