BEAUMONT — Beaumont police early Sunday responded to a call on Irving Avenue, where they found a victim dead on the sidewalk.

An issued statement said the “check welfare” call came at 2:46 a.m. on Irving Avenue’s 2600 block.

Beaumont Emergency Medical Services pronounced the victim dead.

Cause of death was not known; an autopsy was expected.

The victim was identified as Eustiseu Rocha, 58.
