December 14, 1943 – April 2, 2018
Linda Edmonds McElroy, 74, formerly of Port Neches, Texas, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018. Linda was born on December 14, 1943 in Hearne, Texas, to the late Howard Edmonds, Sr. and Margaret Smyth Edmonds.
Linda embraced Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized in the Baptist faith on the 29th of March, 1953 at Central Baptist Church of Port Neches, Texas.
Linda was predeceased by brother, James Howard Edmonds. Left to cherish her memories are: daughter, Ashlee Jacobs and husband, Robert of Fannett, Texas; son, Whitney Wilson and wife, Kristin of Beaumont, Texas; and brother, Howard Edmonds, Jr. and wife, Elaine of Nederland, Texas. Linda was blessed with four grandchildren, two nieces, and one nephew.
Linda retired as a CNA due to poor health and had also worked previously as office manager for the late U. S. Representative, Jack Brooks, in Beaumont, Texas.
Linda will be remembered for her sense of humor and love of her family and friends. She had a very unique style and lived life her own way. Linda’s wishes were that there would be no visitation or services and to further these goals, Linda, unselfishly, willed her body to the University of Texas Willed Body program in Houston, Texas.
Very special thanks are for the excellent care and attention tendered to Linda by the nurses and staff of Magnolia Manor in Groves, Texas and to Kindred Hospice out of Beaumont, Texas.
