“We’re expecting a great crowd with the lineup of bands, partnering with the Elite Redfish Series’ Border Wars and wonderful food. We even have a crawfish eating contest,” Bard said. “I consider Port Arthur the Louisiana part of Texas. So many Cajuns came there during the oil boom of the 1930s, but they couldn’t celebrate their culture.”
Additionally, Saturday’s fest will go along with the redfish tournament weigh-in.
That lineup of bands include: Wayne Toups & Royal BluGarou headline the schedule, according to the www.cajunheritagefest.com. Also on stage are Travis Matte & the Kingpins and Jamie Bergeron & the Kickin’ Cajuns!
