Staff report
Officers responded Monday night to a domestic disturbance in which two Beaumont women said they were attacked.
Police responded to a 7:36 p.m. call to Hacienda Apartments, 1096 Georgia, where a Beaumont woman said she was packing her clothes and trying to leave her boyfriend, Dameion Jakeith Hall, 36.
The victim said Hall became upset and started stabbing her several times with a knife. Hall’s sister tried to stop the attack and he struck her in the head with his fist or an unknown object and knocked her to the ground, police said.
The girlfriend managed to escape from the apartment and run for help. A neighbor called police.
Hall left the scene in a gray Nissan but was found a short time later at 1397 Washington. Hall was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, family violence and assault-family violence. He remained at Jefferson County Corrections on Tuesday with bond set at a total of $85,000.
Hall’s girlfriend was transported to a local hospital and taken to surgery. She is expected to survive the injuries.
Three adults, two teenagers and several small children were in the apartment during the attack.
