TRACK: Houston edges Vincent, LSU in Texas Relays 4×100 by .003 second

AUSTIN — How close can a race finish?

In the case of Saturday’s men’s 4×100-meter final at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, less than half of a hundredth of a second.

Port Arthur freshman Kary Vincent Jr. ran the opening leg for LSU, which finished second to the University of Houston by 0.003, or three-thousandths, of a second. Houston, in lane 5, won with a time of 38.915 seconds. LSU, in lane 6, was second at 38.919, and Northwestern State was third at 39.45.
