Federal Emergency Management Agency mitigation specialists will be available to talk with do-it-yourself home repairers or contractors this week at Ace Hardware, Childs Building Supply, 3704 N. 16th St., Orange.

In an issued statement, FEMA said specialists would answer questions and offer tips and techniques to build hazard-resistant homes using proven methods that will prevent or reduce damage from future disasters.

Some topics covered will include flood insurance, elevating utilities and rebuilding flooded and wind-damaged homes.

The specialists will be at Ace Hardware from 8-6, Monday through Saturday.
