Annie Laura Spooner was granted her eternal wings on February 27th, 2018. Annie’s final days were spent surrounded by family and friends, whom she touched in numerous ways throughout her dignified life. Annie’s life touched many in her family, community, and church family through her service, guidance and generosity. Annie worked for Port Arthur ISD for 35 plus years and was an active member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.

Annie is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Ronald C. Spooner, of Port Arthur, Texas; children, Stanley Spooner (Denise), Judith Mearlon (Gregory), Natalie McClean, and Vanessa Jones (Enricky); daughter-in- law, JoAnn Spooner; siblings, Mattie G. Barclay, Velma Gray, Louise Bean, Mary Bowie, Charles Holt, Earnest Holt. Annie is also survived by her loving 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends

Annie was preceded in death by her cherished son, Michael Spooner, Sr.; parents, Oscar and Myrtle Holt; siblings, Lily Rose Holt, Mae B. Booker, Mamie Guilbeaux, Robert Holt, and Edward Holt

My all that took pleasure in knowing and loving Mrs. Annie L. Spooner take solace in knowing that Annie Laura Spooner is walking amongst heaven with the Lord, and that her spirit lives on.
