Shots fired during game room robbery

Two robbers entered a local game room and fired shots after learning the business didn’t have any money shortly after they opened Tuesday morning.

The robbery happened shortly after 8:30 a.m. at a game room in the 3800 block of Gulfway Drive, according to information from Port Arthur Police Department.

The two male suspects entered the business just as it opened and demanded money from a clerk. When the clerk said there was no money, a suspect fired several shots.

They fled on foot behind the business toward Peek Avenue.

The last game room robbery in the city occurred at night at KC’s game room, 3433 Twin City Hwy. in the Jefferson City Shopping Center on Jan. 27.

At that time, three men entered the business at and stole a gun as well as an unknown amount of cash. The suspects were in and out quickly during a time the business was full of customers.

The incidents remain under investigation.
