A Port Neches man was injured Sunday afternoon in a crash on Interstate 10 near Smith Road.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said John Bourgeois II, 30, of Port Neches was driving west in a pickup truck when the vehicle left the roadway.

The driver tried to correct the error and return to the roadway when his vehicle was struck by a truck tractor semi-trailer, police said.

The pickup truck then hit the inside cable barrier and flipped into the center media, the DPS said.

Bourgeois was taken to St. Elizabeth’s, DPS said, and his condition was not known.
