A shooting took place Thursday afternoon in Port Arthur.

One victim suffered a gunshot wound shortly after 4 p.m. along the 1100 block of Liberty Avenue where it intersects with the 2300 block of Thomas Boulevard.

The victim was taken to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. The condition is unknown.

Port Arthur Police Department Lieutenant Reid Rowe said the Criminal Investigation Division is working the case.
