Carrie Hawklis Seales, 85, of Houston, TX, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2018.  Carrie was born on March 4, 1932, in Franklin, Louisiana to Beatrice Hawklis and Joseph Gilmore, Jr.  She was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur, TX and retired from St. Mary’s Hospital after over 40 years of service.

Carrie was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Lester Seales, Sr. and three brothers, Oliver Hawklis, Wilbert Hawklis and Joseph Gilmore, Sr.  Survivors include four children, Bruce Venison (Sandra), Demetra Venison, Kimberley Seales and Adrian Seales (Mary), all of Houston, TX; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends, a loving caregiver, Terri Roberts, and her loving dogs, Chico and Rudy.

Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Monday, February 26, 2018 at New St. John Missionary Baptist Church with viewing from 11:00 am until service time.  Pastor Claude Comeaux, Jr. will officiate.  Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
