Gary Mae Doucet Biri, 86, of Groves passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas.
She was born on February 8, 1932 in Opelousas, Louisiana. Gary has been a resident of Groves for 61 years and was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Groves. She was a devoted homemaker in raising her four children along with her husband, Francis.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Francis Monroe Biri, Jr.
Gary is survived by her daughter, Vickie Teran and husband, Ruben of Groves, Lonny Biri and wife, Nancy of Bridge City, Joseph Biri and wife, Susie of Kountze and Neal Biri of Houston. Her nine grandchildren are Chris Teran, Jeremie Teran (Dana), Steven Teran, Megan Obernuefemann (Justin), Ethan Biri, Jillian Biri, Angie Campbell (Korey), Shane Biri (Cambrea) and Keith Biri along with her great grandchildren, Christopher, Kendall, Amelia, Anyston, Owen and Oliver
She is also survived by her sister, Ellen Quebedeaux and husband, Jimmy of Baton Rouge, LA. And her brother, Earlis Doucet of Breaux Bridge, LA. as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends will begin on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Family will receive visitors on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves. Rev. Msgr. Kenneth R. Greig will be the celebrant. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
