Local National Signing Day athletes

Wednesday marks the traditional National Signing Day for high school football athletes committing to a collegiate program.

The first early signing period was Dec. 20-22. No Mid- or South County players signed then.

Following is a list of athletes within The News circulation area who will sign (listed alphabetically), the high school position for each one and the institution each will sign with (with division):

• Port Arthur Memorial, 2 p.m. at school auditorium: Dalyn Ceasar, offensive lineman, Southwestern Oklahoma State (NCAA Division II); James Francis, wide receiver, Southwestern Oklahoma State; Elijah Hines, running back, Louisiana Tech (Football Bowl Subdivision); Keitha Jones, quarterback, Tulane (FBS); Greg Laday, cornerback, Northern Colorado (Football Championship Subdivision); Nakoven Lewis, offensive lineman, Texas Lutheran University (NCAA Division III) Brian Roy, offensive lineman, Sam Houston State (FCS); Jomard Valsin, linebacker, Northwestern State (FCS); and others signing with lower-level institutions

• Nederland, 10:15 a.m. at Dome Gym: Kevon Latulas, wide receiver, Kilgore College; Tiren Forney, defensive end, Navarro College

• Bridge City, 11:55 a.m. at school library: Josh Sanders, offensive tackle, UT Permian Basin
