A Groves burglary victim arrived at a Chase bank in Port Arthur armed with a pistol and tried to hold two burglary suspects at bay Wednesday.
The Groves man, who was not identified, had been burglarized and his vehicle and other belongings stolen. He then received a call from Chase Bank on Twin City Highway saying that someone was attempting to pass a check stolen from him, according to information from the Port Arthur Police Department.
The burglary victim then went to the bank armed with a pistol hoping to hold the men at bay until police arrived but the two suspects fled on foot. One of the men was arrested in a vehicle reportedly stolen from the victim and charged with forgery and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The second suspect was still at large as of 5:30 p.m.
There is no information whether the burglary victim actually pointed the firearm at anyone and no charges have been filed against him at this time.
