JANICE TODORA ON BOWLING: Stars of Tomorrow lead way

Saturday morning’s Stars of Tomorrow had the duo of Brandon Bertrand and Cain Shaw leading the way this week at The Max.
Brandon started off with a big 289 game. He followed that with games of 217 and 171 to lead the youth this week with a nice 677 set.
Cain started with a 178, then followed that up with his big game, a 246 and ended with a 190 for a 632 series. Once these young men begin competing with the adults, it will be fun to watch these guys grow in the sport.
Queen Tumbler Alice Barnes was at it again as she led the senior women with games of 166, 221 and 236 for a 623 series. Alice is settling in nicely as the state and local tournaments are just around the corner.
Energy Country Ford/Allstate League provided the rest of this week’s leaders. Sami Jo Williams led all the women this week as she fired games of 227, 259 and 218 for a 704 series.
Charles Mitchell had a nice night shooting games of 279, 223 and 226 for a 728 series.
Finally the week’s top bowler led the men as well as the senior men. Buddy Sepeda torched the lanes with games of 236, 245 and 277 for a league leading 758 series.
On a sad note, I wish to send condolences and prayers to Judy Arsenault. Judy’s mother Velma LeBlanc passed away on Sunday. Velma enjoyed bowling and enjoyed life to its fullest traveling and spending time with her family. After a mass at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Port Neches at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Velma will be buried at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
