Staff report
Chairwoman Rossanna Salazar and Chancellor Brian McCall will appoint an advisory committee to assist in the search for the next president of Lamar State College-Orange, the Texas State University System Board of Regents has announced.
President Mike Shahan is retiring at the end of the fiscal year.
The committee will consist of faculty, staff, students, members of the public and representatives of the TSUS Board of Regents.
Between February and May, the committee and an executive search firm will conduct a national search to identify three or four exceptionally qualified candidates who will be invited to interview with McCall. Following the interviews, McCall will name a sole finalist and recommend that finalist for confirmation by the TSUS Board of Regents.
TSUS Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs John Hayek will meet on campus with key stakeholders later in January to get input on the qualities and attributes desired in the next LSCO president.
