Beaumont police early Monday charged a suspect with burglary of a home.

Police said a complainant called at 5:28 a.m. from apartments at 3030 French Road about an attempted burglary at that address.

The caller gave a description of the suspect and police located the suspect at a nearby store.

Arrested was Floyd Toran, 42, of Beaumont.

Police said Toran was charged with burglary of a habitation, felon in possession of a firearm and theft of a firearm.

He was taken to Jefferson County Jail, police said.
