Marjorie Chretien Wanzel

Marjorie Chretien Wanzel, 95, of Port Arthur, Texas, since 1930, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Pinehurst Nursing Home in Orange. Marjorie was born December 3, 1922, in Houston, Texas to the late John Hamilton Chretien and Anna White Pointer. She was a sweet, happy, and caring lady. After retiring from Dryden’s in the shipping and receiving department, she enjoyed traveling. She was a member of United Methodist Temple, loved watching old movies, and was once actively involved in a bridge club.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Chretien, D.D.S.; and a sister, Mary Frances Hartley. She is survived by her son, H. Lathan Wanzel, Jr., and her daughter Lois Marie Gabel and her husband, Keeth; and brothers, Rev. John Christian and Retired Col. J. Richard Chretien, D.D.S. She also leaves behind three grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren to cherish her memories.

A graveside service for Ms. Marjorie will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 6, 2018, at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
