PA house fire deemed suspicious

Port Arthur firefighters Wednesday were investigating a house fire they deemed suspicious.
The fire happened around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at a home in the 800 block of Welford Avenue in the city’s West Side.
Investigators believe the fire originated in a back bedroom, PAFD Capt. Antonio Mitchell said.
The home appeared to be unoccupied — there were no utilities or appliances inside — but indications were that the fire was intentionally set, firefighters said.
It is not known if the fire was maliciously set, they said.
No injuries were reported.
