Mrs. Joyce Simon, 82, of Port Arthur, Texas, passed away peacefully at Houston Hospice surrounded by her family on December 26, 2017.  A native of St. Martinville, Louisiana, she was a longtime resident of Port Arthur and a member of St. James Catholic Church.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with visitation from 8 a.m. until service time.  The rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m.  Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.

Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Leroy Simon; daughters, Donna Laverne of Port Arthur and Charlotte Calloway (Enrico) of Houston; grandson, Christopher Laverne of Houston; granddaughters, Jazmine Whitaker of Port Arthur and Elisabeth “Callie” Calloway of Houston; brother, Henry Pradier (Germaine) of Humble; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Pradier of Houston, god-daughters, Tomasita Louviere-Ligons of Austin and Crystal Granger of Houston, and a host of relatives and devoted friends.
