Kelly pulls away from PNG boys for win

BEAUMONT — Kelly managed to overcome a low-scoring second quarter and outscored Port Neches-Groves 31-24 in the second half to take a 47-40 win in boys basketball Friday.

Kelly had just outscored PNG (7-10) 5-2 in the second to tie the game at halftime.

Trent Lee scored 12 points and Edsel Damo had 10 for PNG, which will play in the Bridge City Cardinal Classic next Thursday and Friday.
