Give back to those still in need, if you can
As you may have read, a local church is making an effort to round up local volunteers to aid those in Port Arthur still in need after the Tropical Storm Harvey Flood.
We hope church groups, youth groups, teams, Boy Scout troops, families and any individual who can will step up and lend a hand to people who need help. Although many people are returning home about this time, there are still people—especially seniors and people with low income—who may need more help. These people exist. We reported on Thanksgiving about one elderly, disabled woman who is still living in a hotel because she hasn’t found volunteers to aid her.
The volunteers will meet at 7 a.m. at 501 W. Thomas Boulevard and if you have time Saturday, please consider volunteering.
