Paul F. Ames, 92, of Groves, died Tuesday, November 21, 2017. He was born on May 20, 1925, in Port Arthur.

Paul retired as an electrician at Texaco after more than thirty years of service. He enjoyed duck hunting, and was very creative with his hands. Paul will be remembered as a loving and well like gentleman.

Survivors include his stepdaughter, Cheryl Sattler and her husband, Sam, of Spring; step-son, Billy Hinson, of Port Neches; sister, Jackie of Alaska; niece, Julie Hughes of Houston; grandchildren, Sheila Sattler and Carrie Farmer; great-grandchildren, Lindsey, Matthew, and Zachary.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Josie Pastorella Ames; two sisters; and three brothers.

A gathering of Mr. Ames’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with his Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Friday, November 24, 2017, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 25, 2017, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 4100 Lincoln Avenue, Groves, with his entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
