Groves Police responded to the following calls from Nov. 1 – Nov. 7

Wednesday, Nov. 1

  • A 49-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication in the 6200 block of Mire
  • Someone damaged a vehicle window in the 2900 block of Boyd.
  • A criminal trespass warning notice was issued in the 6200 block of Mire.
  • Paint was sprayed on a vehicle parked in the 5500 block of Anselmo.
  • A 31-year-old man was arrested on outstanding warrants when officers were called to a fight in progress in the 3800 block of Dunn.
  • A 26-year-old man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and unlawfully carrying a weapon after a traffic stop in the 5400 block of East Parkway.
  • A vehicle window was broken in the 3100 block of Boyd.
  • Burglary of building was reported in the 5600 block of East Parkway.

Thursday, Nov. 2

  • A domestic disturbance was reported in the 5100 block of Foster.
  • Burglary of a vehicle was reported in the 6500 block of Howe.
  • Animal miscellaneous was reported in the 2300 block of Owens.
  • Burglar alarm was reported in the 3100 block of Allison.
  • Criminal mischief was reported in the 6800 block of Browning.
  • A 21 year old male was arrested for outstanding warrants in the 3100 block of Allison.

Friday, Nov. 3

  • Theft of refrigerator, and wood cabinets were reported in the 6200 block of Jefferson Street.
  • Unauthorized use of motor vehicle was reported in the 6300 block of West Washington.

Saturday, Nov. 4

  • Burglary of building was reported in the 3600 block of FM 366.
  • A disturbance was reported in the 4800 block of Twin City Highway.
  • Tools were reported taken from vehicle in the 6300 block of Washington Avenue.

Sunday, Nov. 5

  • Unauthorized use of a debit card was reported in the 2400 block of Post Oak Boulevard.
  • Damage to a vehicle was reported in the 4200 block of Main Avenue.
  • Slashed tires on a vehicle were reported in the 4700 block of Boyd Avenue.

Monday, Nov. 6

  • Theft of debit card was reported in the 4200 block of Main Avenue.
  • Someone stole keys from a vehicle in the 5300 block of Gulfway Drive.
  • A 63-year-old man was arrested for discharging a firearm in the 4400 block of Lawndale.
  • Money was withdrawn from an account without permission and reported in the 4200 block of Main.
  • An assault was reported in 6600 block of Verde Street.

Tuesday, Nov. 7

  • Theft was reported in the 4200 block of Main Avenue.

Personal Safety — Public Elevators. If you are worried about someone who is waiting for the elevator with you, pretend you forgot something and do not get on.

Look inside before getting on to ensure that no one appears suspicious, of so do not get on. Once inside, stand near the controls and familiarize yourself with the emergency buttons. Get off if someone suspicious enters. If you are attacked, push the alarm and as many floor buttons as possible.
