The Houston Astros will celebrate their World Series championship with a parade beginning and ending at Houston City Hall, starting 2 p.m. Friday.

Following the parade, special remarks from Astros owner Jim Crane, manager A.J. Hinch, Astros players and Mayor Sylvester Turner will be made. Other participants include President of Business Operations Reid Ryan, General Manager Jeff Luhnow, Astros legends, Orbit the team mascot, Astros Coca-Cola Shooting Stars and team front office staff.

Houston beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-1 in Game 7 on Wednesday for its first world championship in the Astros’ 56-year history. The Dodgers last won the World Series in 1988. (The then-Anaheim Angels won the Los Angeles area’s last baseball title in 2002.)

The Astros’ title is Houston’s first for a franchise in the five major sports leagues since the Houston Dynamo of Major League Soccer won their second straight title in 2007. The NBA’s Houston Rockets won back-to-back titles in 1994 and 1995.
