PREP ROUNDUP: A win a dozen: Rock-A-Noos improve to 12-0 in District 22-5A

PORT NECHES — Two more victories, and Port Neches-Groves will go unbeaten in District 22-5A.
A dozen straight victories is something to celebrate as well.
Rachel Hammersmith made 26 assists, and PNG recorded its 11th sweep in district play with a 25-20, 25-22, 25-13 win over Lumberton on Tuesday. Hammersmith and Elizabeth Bolyard each had 10 service points.
Bayja Newby totaled 14 digs, Kaitlyn Gil had 18 kills and 13 digs, Libbie LeJeune finished with seven service points, seven digs and seven kills, and Baylee Priddy totaled five kills and 10 assists.
PNG (25-5, 12-0 in 22-5A) has matches at Beaumont Central (on Friday) and at Livingston (on Tuesday) remaining.

NEDERLAND 3, VIDOR 0
NEDERLAND — Abbey Montalvo recorded a double-double, leading Nederland (18-12, 8-4 in 22-5A) to a 25-17, 26-24, 25-20 rout of the Pirates.
Montalvo had 18 assists, 12 digs, eight kills and four aces in the win. Haley Plumley, Karley McGill, Hannah Hickey and Kameron Cuniff each recorded five kills, and Peyton Smith finished with 25 digs and two aces for the Bulldogs.
Nederland will visit Livingston and Port Arthur Memorial to close out its regular season.
Also Tuesday, Ozen swept Memorial 25-20, 27-25, 25-19 in Beaumont, and Bob Hope beat Kirbyville in four sets.

TEAM TENNIS
Port Neches-Groves lost its 5A team tennis bi-district match at Barbers Hill 17-2 on Tuesday.
Nederland will play in the 5A area round against Fort Bend Elkins on Thursday at Goose Creek Memorial in Baytown.
