Groves Police calls, Oct. 4-10

Groves Police responded to the following calls from Oct. 4-10:
Wednesday, Oct. 4
- A 31-year-old man was arrested for driving while intoxicated and unlawfully carrying a weapon after a traffic stop in the 6900 block of 39th Street.
- The report of a threat was made in the 6400 block of Terrell.
- A 34-year-old man was arrested on outstanding warrants after a traffic stop in the 3200 block of East Parkway.
- A black colored 2008 Ford Expedition was stolen from the 5900 block of Jackson.
Thursday, Oct. 5
- Two adult men were arrested on outstanding warrants.
Friday, Oct. 6
- A domestic disturbance was reported in the 5000 block of East Parkway.
- An unwanted subject was reported in the 3800 block of Lincoln Avenue.
- A 38-year-old man was arrested for possession of marijuana and evading arrest after a traffic stop in the 3000 block of Pure Atlantic.
- A disturbance and aggravated assault were reported in the 7100 block of Howe Street.
- A piece of concrete was thrown through a window on a vehicle parked in the 6000 block of 39th Street.
- Seasonal yard ornaments and other items were stolen from a building in the 3100 block of Lay Avenue.
- A 40-year-old man was arrested for assault in the 5000 block of Gulf.
Saturday, Oct. 7
- A 28-year-old man was arrested on outstanding warrants and a 33-year-old man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop in the 5500 block of 25th Street.
- An assault was reported in the 5400 block of West Parkway.
Sunday, Oct. 8
- A criminal trespass warning was issued in the 4400 block of Karen.
- The driver of a white passenger car hit a vehicle and then left the scene.
- The driver of a black Chevrolet Suburban struck a vehicle parked in the 4800 block of Twin City Highway and then attempted to leave the scene. When owner of the vehicle that was struck attempted to stop the fleeing vehicle, the driver of the Suburban ran over the victim’s foot causing an injury and then left the scene.
- Criminal trespass of a habitation in the 5500 block of Whitaker was reported.
Monday, Oct. 9
- A Ruger .357 revolver, flashlights and two knifes were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 3200 block of Charles.
- A wallet, cash and an Apple watch were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 6000 block of Martin.
- An abandoned vehicle was towed from the 5700 block of West Jefferson.
- A mental commitment was processed.
Tuesdsay, Oct. 10
- Theft of a firearm was reported in the 4200 block of Main Avenue.
- Burglary of a habitation was reported in the 5400 block of Gulfway Drive.

What type of child car safety seat should I use?
If your child is under a year old and less than 30 pounds — Use a rear-facing infant car seat.
Under a year old and less than 30 pounds — Use a rear-facing convertible car seat.
At least one year old and 20 to 40 pounds — Use a booster seat with a harness.
Over 40 pounds and less than 4-foot 9-inches tall — Your child should use a booster seat, but remove the harness straps. The booster seat must be used with a lap/shoulder seat belt until the child is about than 4-foot 9-inches tall.
Over than 4-foot 9-inches tall — Your child must use a lap/shoulder seat belt. Children younger than 13 years old should never ride in the front seat of vehicles with active passenger airbags.
