Mabel Verdine

Mabel Verdine, 80, of Port Arthur, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2017 surrounded by family in Conroe, Texas. Mabel was born February 3, 1937 in Abbeville, La., to the late Roy R. DeMarcay and Lota Marie DeMarcay. Mabel was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She and her husband built their home in Kirbyville where they enjoyed being in the woods.  Mabel enjoyed having fun and dancing. She was a HUGE Dallas Cowboys fan and will be greatly missed by many.

Mabel was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, David Verdine, Sr.; son, Russell Verdine and brother, Clarence DeMarcais. Mabel is survived by her children, David H. Verdine, Jr., and wife, Sonia of The Philippines, Dennis Verdine of San Antonio and Penny Verdine Hebert of Port Arthur; brother, Murphy DeMarcay and wife, Cathy. She also leaves behind grandchildren, Crystal LaCaze and husband, Brian of Conroe, Brandy Mulherin and husband, Blake of Nederland, Brandi Coon of Port Arthur, George Coon and Amanda of Port Arthur, Larry Hebert, Jr. of Port Arthur, Tyler Hebert of Louisiana, Diana Verdine and Donna Verdine of The Philippines; great grandchildren, Bailey LaCaze, Cali LaCaze, Ledi Coon, Kayanna Coon, Jace Jackson, Jordyn Jackson, Kaylen Warner and Gryphen Piazza; numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends to cherish her memories.

Pallbearers will be George Coon, Brian LaCaze, Tyler Hebert, Larry McGuire, Leonard “Chip” Arnold and David Rodriguez.

In honor of Mabel Verdine AKA Mom and her love for the Cowboys, please wear your best Dallas Cowboys attire. 

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, October 8, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. 

A Celebration of Life Service for Mabel Verdine will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 9, 2017, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland.
