Ms. Dorothy Mae Bowden, formerly of Port Arthur died Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at the Hospice of East Texas, in Tyler, Texas. She was a resident of Port Arthur all of her life until recently moving to Tyler, Texas with her family. She retired from St. Mary’s Hospital after many years of service and attended the Historic Israel Chapel AME Church. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Organization.

A visitation is scheduled for Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Historic Israel Chapel AME Church. Funeral Service will begin shortly afterwards with Rev. Theo Mays officiating. Burial will follow in Live Oak Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.

Survivors include her sister, Eloice Guillory of Houston; a nephew who she raised, Byron Briscoe of Tyler; other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
