NEDERLAND — A slow start cost Nederland its final non-district match of the season Tuesday.
Huffman Hargrave picked up a 25-13, 25-13, 27-25 win over Nederland, despite 13 assists, 10 assists and seven kills from Abbey Montalvo.
Also for Nederland, Peyton Smith had 14 digs and three aces, Haley Plumley totaled four kills and two blocks and Hannah Hickey killed three and blocked two.
District 22-5A play begins Friday under its compressed schedule. Nederland will visit Vidor, Port Arthur Memorial will host Ozen and Port Neches-Groves will travel to Lumberton.
