GROVES — Residents of Magnolia Manor nursing facility likely didn’t notice when a breaker panel to the building became hot and emergency power was activated around 1 p.m. Monday.
The facility, 4440 Gulf Ave. in Groves, immediately went to its emergency power source as first responders arrived to make sure all was safe.
Groves Fire Chief Dale Jackson said they received automatic assistance from Nederland and Port Neches fire departments and ambulance assistance was brought in in case there was the need to relocate patients with special medical needs.
Kenny Blanda, executive director of Magnolia Manor had called out for an electrician shortly afterwards and said everybody was doing well.
