Sadie Mae Antoine

Sadie Mae Antoine age 80, departed this life on August 1, 2017 after the reading of Psalms 121. Sadie was born May 5th, 1937 to the late Elton & Roxie Atkins Antoine in Big Cane, La. At an early age Sadie move to Morrow, La. And attended school at Lincoln High of Morrow, La. She was baptized at an early age and attended Plymouth Rock Baptist Church. Sadie’s family moved to Port Arthur, Tx, returned to Louisiana and later moved to Houston. After a short stay in Houston she made Port Arthur her home, where she raised (3) children. She worked faithfully at Home Laundry, Blanton, Blue Bonnet Cleaners, Ramada Inn and Dear Care Health until her health failed her.

Sadie Mae truly loved the Lord, and cherished her personal relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus and Church family. Sadie was a totally dedicated member of The Way Outreach Church of Port Arthur, Tx. for many years where she faithfully served as Treasurer and the church Mother under the leadership of Pastor Rickey Lee Antoine until her death. She will be greatly missed for her compassion, love, wittyness and dedication to the ministry.

Aunt Sadie Mae as she was known by her family all agree that there will only be (1) one Aunt Sadie Mae. All of the family knew nobody could fry Chicken or cook quite like Aunt Sadie Mae. She was also known in the family as the Aunt you could talk to and lay all of your problems down and not have your business spread all over town. Sadie was a very fashionable, classy dressing lady who loved to adorn herself with countless outfits in all colors.

She was preceded in death by her parents Elton & Roxie Atkins Antoine, one son Kavin Ray Antoine, (5) five sisters Lou Ella ‘Mo’ Stubblefield, Olivia ‘Shange’ Johnson, Rebecca ‘Bobo’ Antoine, Willa ‘Lillie’ Mae Antoine, Bertha ‘Bae’ Pleasant, (3) three brothers Firman Antoine, Eddie V. Antoine, Curtis A. Antoine.

Left to cherish her memories (1) loving daughter Gloria Jean Marcel and loving son in law Frank Marcel, (2) two sons Ezekiel Edwards III, and Pastor Rickey Lee Antoine and loving daughter in law Auronica Gail Antoine all of Port Arthur, Tx. (1) sister Helen Dixon of Port Arthur, Tx (4) granddaughters Brittany Como (Henry) of Port Arthur, Tx, Tx, Jasmine Christine Antoine of Houston, Tx, Shashira Auronica Cotton of Port Arthur, Tx. Victoria ’T.T’ Jones (Harold) Houston, (3) three grandson’s Rickey ‘2’ Lee Antoine II of Houston, Tx, James Cotton and LeeAndrus Thomas Jr. of Port Arthur, Tx. (3) great granddaughter’s Jalisa Crew of Port Arthur, Tx, Raven Davis and Leamh Jones of Houston, Tx. (1) great grandson Christian Antoine Williams, (1) one God son Darryl ‘Boo’ Johnson Jr. Port Arthur, Tx., (1) Aunt Rose Lee Atkins of Houston, Tx, a host of nieces and nephews. (1) one special son Tyre Thomas of Beaumont, Tx.

The family would like to thank Dr. Harry Smith and Staff at the Cancer Center of Southeast Texas along with Kindred Hospice staff for being so attentive and compassionate in the medical and comfort care they provided. We thank all of our family and countless friends who called, sent a text message or stopped by, we can’t THANK you enough for all of the love you have shown during our hour of bereavement.

Funeral services will be on August 12, 2017 at 3600 Memorial Blvd. Kingdom Dominion Church. Viewing beginning at 9AM and service starting at 11AM. Pastor Rickey L. Antoine will be officiating. Funeral service has been entrusted to Hannah Funeral Home. Burial will be at Live Oak Memorial Park.
