It’s back to the drawing board for one street project.

The Port Arthur City Council will consider rejecting bids for the West Rev. Dr. Ransom Howard Street pavement rehabilitation project form MLK Drive to Abe Lincoln Avenue due to funding availability when they meet for their regular meeting at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Port Arthur City Hall, 444 Fourth St.

An interoffice memorandum read four bids were received and opened on July 12 with LD Construction of Beaumont being the lowest bid for $1,265,732. This project is a Texas General Land Office funded project with a budget of $730,000. The bid received exceeds the project budget and it is recommended the bid be rejected and project rebid.
