Final round 73 costly for Landry

A final round meltdown, possibly from the fatigue of his fourth round in
three days, sent Andrew Landry tumbling into a tie for 19th Sunday in the
Digital Ally Open over the Nicklaus Golf Club at LionsGate in Overland Park,
Kansas.

Landry, after charging back into contention with a 63 in Sunday’s morning
round, skidded to a 73 in the afternoon. Trailing by three when the final
round began, he finished 10 shots off the 25-under winning total of ZeChang
Dou of China.

On the way to shooting his second 63 of the tournament, Landry rolled in
eight birdies against no bogeys to move from a tie for 10th into a tie for
third. But a bogey on the first hole of the afternoon started his fall down
the leaderboard.

Following a bogey on the par 3, 8th and a birdie on the par 4, 9th, the Port Neches-Groves
ex made the turn in over over 36. Two birdies on the back were not nearly enough to offset three more bogeys.

Landry, who plans to skip this week’s Web.com Tour stop in California, remained No. 1 on the money list.
