Evelyn “Jackie” Murphy Robertson, 98, of Groves, Texas passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at her home in Groves.

She was born on November 3, 1918 to her parents, Roy Murphy and Evelyn Barnes Murphy in Port Arthur, Texas. Jackie graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and attended LSU for one year. She was a devoted homemaker in raising her family along with her husband, Arthur. Jackie was a lifelong resident of the area and a longtime member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Port Neches.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother and sister and her husband, Arthur Robertson, Jr.

Jackie is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Vance and husband, Donald of Georgetown, Texas, her two sons, Arthur Robertson, III of Port Arthur, Texas and Judd B. Robertson and wife, Phyllis of Port Neches, Texas, 3 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, June 30, 2017 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Visitation will continue on Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 12:30 PM till 2:00 PM at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. A service to honor Jackie’s life will be celebrated at 2:00 PM at the church with Rev. John Johnson, officiating. Entombment will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park under the direction of Clayton Thompson.
