Jean Holland Crochet, 90, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017, at his residence.  He was born to Adalbert Crochet and Amelia Broussard Crochet on November 24, 1926 in Loreauville, Louisiana.

A gathering of friends and family will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Thursday, June 22, 2017, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur, Texas.  A Celebration of Mr. Crochet’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 23, 2017, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Mr. Crochet was a retired butcher from Market Basket where he worked for 20 years. He also served in the United States Army where he served during World War II as a military policeman.  Jean and his wife loved to travel and enjoyed dancing at the Rodaire. He enjoyed bowling and bowled on many leagues.

Mr. Crochet was preceded in death by his parent, Adalbert Crochet and Amelia Broussard Crochet; two sons, Jerry Crochet and Jimbo Crochet; son-in-law, Neil Carlson; and his six brothers and sisters.  He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Eunice Crochet; sons, Johnny Crochet and wife, Cheryl; Jeffrey Crochet, Jesse Crochet and Joe Crochet; daughters, Julie Carlson, Jennifer Rachal  and husband, Greg; Jackie Venghaus and husband Leonard, Jill Rambin and husband Dennis; brother, Bob Crochet and wife Grace; and sister-in-law, Billie Crochet.  Mr. Crochet also leaves behind 19 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren to cherish his memories.
