The National Hurricane Center is still monitoring an area of disturbed weather in the western Caribbean. There is a medium, or 60 percent chance, for a tropical cyclone to develop, primarily Sunday through early next week near the Yucatan Peninsula or southern Gulf of Mexico.

Forecasters said due to the slow progress of this system, it is too early to say if there will be any significant weather impacts in our region next week.
