Chris Duque, city manager, said the city is taking a prudent approach to the bug issue as the health and safety of the public is important so they are being extra cautious.

Duque did not identify which type of bug caused the recentl problem but that it can possibly travel with people.

“Once it was confirmed at our building we didn’t want to run the risk of the possibility of the bugs spreading,” Duque said.

Exterminators are doing their part to rid the library of the pests.

“The city staff is attempting to rectify the problem as efficiently and effectively as possible; we apologize for any inconvenience this causes,” according to a press release issued by the city. For more information, contact the city manager’s office at 723-1503.
