Ida Romero Naomi

Ida Romero Naomi, 99, entered into eternal peace on May 14, 2017 in Frisco, TX.

Ida was born on July 22, 1917, in her rural home in New Iberia, La. to her parents, Marie Comeaux Romero and Joseph Harrison Romero.  She was one of eleven children.  Ida’s siblings are all deceased except for Ryan Romero, 97 of Vidor, TX. 

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe J. Naomi, Sr. whom she married in August 23, 1940.  They were married 51 years before his death on February 20, 1991.

She is survived by her daughters Pamela Naomi Romero, her husband Robbie L. Romero of Frisco, TX and Cynthia Naomi Todo and her husband Jerry Todo of Seattle, WA.  She has one grandson, James Ryan Romero and his wife Sarah Romero of Austin, TX and one great granddaughter, Taylor Rene Romero of San Marcus, TX.

She leaves behind Debbie Gravenburg Crawford and her husband Homer and their daughter Stephanie who she lovingly “raised as one of her own” and who was her ever-present confidant and telephone pal.

Her Special Companion and dearest love for over 20 years, David Williams survives her as the second love of her life.  We are forever grateful for his unwavering devotion, his love and care which he unselfishly gave to Ida. He was the man who brought much joy and laughter to the second chapter of her life.

A memorial service will be held at Stonebriar Dignity Funeral Home in Frisco, TX on Wednesday, May 17, 2015 at 6 to 8pm, Officiated by Deacon Gregory Kahrs  family friend.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 19, 2017, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur, Texas, with the Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 11:00 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Port Arthur, Texas. Rite of Committal will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Port Arthur, Texas.

A special thanks to the following caregivers who lovingly and joyfully cared for Ida the last year’s of her life.  In Port Arthur:  Pam Sharpe, Mona and Joyce.   In Frisco:  Caroline Lusengo, Angeline, Christine, and Unika.  A very special thanks to Greenfield Residential Care in McKinney, TX and Ms. Epi Dube, Sesa, Nomusa, Cecilia, and Tia for unparalleled love, devotion and care.

Ida loved her doctors and appreciated all they did to keep her healthy and active, in Port Arthur heartfelt thanks to Dr. Avila Arcala, Dr. Burt Ginsburg.  In Frisco Dr. Gary Tigges, Dr. Michele Brochner, Dr. Ken Sherman, Kelly Pope, PA, nurses Catherine and Caroline.
