Rodney James Carter, 49, died Thursday, May 4, 2017 after a long courageous battle with cancer.  A native of Port Arthur, he was a 1986 graduate of Lincoln High School and a resident of Houston, Texas.

Survivors include his parents John and Theresa Carter of Port Arthur; brother, Norman Carter (Tammy) of Houston, TX, Jacqueline Carter, Cynthia Isles (Terrance) of Port Arthur and Shelia Williams (Rickey) of Georgia; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Salem Baptist Church, 1601 6th Street, Port Arthur, TX with Pastor Burton Gans officiating.  Visitation will be 12 noon until service time.  Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
