The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is continuing the investigation into Monday’s kidnapping of attorney Jim Sharon Bearden.
OCSO was contacted by Port Arthur Police Department about the kidnapping that occurred in the Bridge City area of Orange County around noon on Monday.
Bearden, 43, was said to be unharmed but obviously shaken by the incident.
A call was made to Bearden’s law office but was not returned as of 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Port Arthur Police reported they were out with a person in the 3200 block of Memorial Boulevard who stated two unknown men had kidnapped him from his home. He was forced to travel from his home in Bridge City with them, in his Chevrolet Suburban, to a bank in the Mid-County area and withdraw a sum of money, according to a press release from OCSO.
Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies and detectives responded to Bearden’s location an also to his home just outside of the Bridge City city limits.
Video surveillance from the area shows a maroon or burgundy colored SUV, possibly a Chevrolet S10 blazer, in the area that is a possible vehicle of interest.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is following leads and gathering evidence as this investigation continues.
