Lela Mae Wiese

Lela Mae Wiese, 67, of Beauxart Garden, died Saturday, April 22, 2017. She was born on February 18, 1950, in West Monroe, Louisiana, to Addie Lavinia Ingram Carroll and Clarence Carroll.

Lela enjoyed bingo and other games of chance. She enjoyed being around family and friends, especially decorating together at Christmas. Lela loved to greet visitors at their outdoor Christmas display at their home. She especially loved her family and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Billie Wiese, of Beauxart Garden; daughters, Tammy Duncan and her husband, Deat, of Hot Coffee, Mississippi and Barbara Haro and her husband, Robert, of Nederland; son, James Wiese of Nederland; grandchildren, Dylan Duncan, Nicholas Haro, and Joseph Haro; sister, Margaret Byrd and her husband, Darrell, of Silsbee; brother, Robert Carroll of Beaumont; and many nieces, nephews, 4 step-grandchildren, and 3 step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Merl Russell; and brother, Tommy Russell.

A gathering of Mrs. Wiese’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at First Baptist Church of Beauxart Garden, 8230 Holmes Road, Nederland, with her interment to follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
